(Iceland)

Special thanks to Culture Ireland and music network for making this happen. We played two gigs at the Salurinn theatre, visited 4 schools and made two television appearances, we even made it on the news! Nothing bad though, we promise..! Also performing at the festival were classical pianist, John O' Connor and Ragus, the wonderful Irish dance production from FOM Productions.

Even though we were kept busy playing, we managed to book a sightseeing day trip where we were treated to exploding geysers, beautiful waterfalls and a singing tour guide!

On our way to the airport, we stopped off at the beautiful 'Blue Lagoon' which is basically an outdoor swimming pool that is naturally heated all year round. Sounds gorgeous but we picked a bad day and got beaten by hail stones, torrential rain and gale force winds! Rough but highly recommended on a calm day! We took our dishevelled selves to the airport and hopped on a flight to Halifax and drove for several hours to find ourselves at:

(Celtic Colours)

What an experience! If Carlsberg did festivals one would most definitely be Celtic Colours!  We played five gigs and a radio programme over our few days in Cape Breton. The rest of the time was spent enjoying the fabulous festival club where we met many other artists performing at the festival such as Le Vent du Nord, Ashley MacIssac, Sierra Noble and the Bachands. We somehow managed to stick the pace (especially Aidan!) until our last day when all the drink, jetlag and general merriment hit us in one go! After driving three hours to the airport and enduring all the usual 'fun' airports have to offer, we got on our flight, only to be delayed for two and a half hours on the runway! Damien was blessed to be sitting next to a very highly strung woman he had to console about the delay. She then proceeded to fall asleep and snore relentlessly. Pointing this out to the air hostesses, he tried to blag his way into first class. Not a success, he was snored out until we landed in Dublin where....our bags were lost!!! A very tired, grumpy, still hungover Damien then discovered he had left his ipod (used in an attempt to block out the snoring) on the plane! A messy end to a fantastic trip. Thanks to all at Celtic Colours for an unforgettable few days. Wonderful music, people and fun!

(Latvia)

We never imagined we'd find ourselves in Latvia on St. Patrick's day. Such is the unpredictability of the music business! We visited the capital, Riga, and played for the Irish Ambassador at the Irish Embassy, and also performed for the city's radio station.
